The National Albanian American Council (NAAC) issued the following statement regarding the NAAC delegation to Kosova

Washington, DC (February 5, 2007) - On Thursday, February 8, 2007, a delegation of the National Albanian American Council (NAAC) will be traveling to Prishtina, Kosova to meet with members of the Kosova Unity Team, US Mission and other individuals engaged in the Kosova status. The meetings are an opportunity to share views and coordinate activities between the Kosova leaders and NAAC’s work in Washington DC during this critical time in Kosova's history.

NAAC fully supports the will of the people for an independent Kosova and we have initiated a number of activities in the United States. In Washington DC, on Tuesday, February 13th, in cooperation with the Albanian Issues Caucus, members of Congress concerned with Albanian issues, NAAC will participate in the Congressional Brief in support of Kosova's independence, followed by a reception bring together many "friends of the Albanians" with members of the Albanian American community. We invite members of the community to join us for the reception.

On Monday, February 12, NAAC will be meeting with Ambassador Frank Wisner in New York to discuss the Kosova status and also the importance of providing a robust post-status economic assistance package.

“It is important to remember that Albanians have many friend and supporters in the United States government and at leading policy institutions in Washington, DC. Now is an important time for all Albanians and friends of Albanians to come together in support of Kosova's independence” said Avni Mustafaj, Executive Director.
