A nationwide coalition of Asian American groups will host a workshop for Maryland homeowners facing loan or foreclosure problems on March 24.
The National Asian American Coalition (NAAC), together with Home Free-USA, has put together the More Help for Homeowners event to assist families and individuals.
Expected to benefit from the day-long workshop with certified housing counselors are those who have questions on loan modification.
Those who have received letters of wrongful foreclosure in 2009 and 2010 will also be assisted.
“Our counselors will assist them in determining their eligibility for an Independent Foreclosure Review and assist with the application,” NAAC president and chief executive officer Faith Bautista said in a statement.
The NAAC is a non-profit housing agency approved by the US Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It is the nation’s leading Asian American nonprofit advocating against foreclosures, advocating for greater economic and small business development and to recognize the growing influence of Asian Americans.
Home-Free USA, meanwhile, is also a HUD-approved not for profit homeownership development, foreclosure intervention and financial empowerment organization. Since 1995, the organization “has been helping families achieve the dream of homeownership.”
The March 24th event will be held at the HomeFree-USA headquarters located at 3401A East West Highway, Hyattsville, MD 20782, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
