NAAC Condemns Violence at Kosova Border and Calls for an Investigation »

The National Albanian American Council strongly condemns the violence leading to the loss of life and destruction of property at the Kosova – Serbia border by Serbian extremists. We extend our sincerest condolences to the family of Kosova Police Officer Enver Zymberi, who was killed during the attacks.

NAAC Applauds Kosova Government on Border Control »

The National Albanian American Council (NAAC) strongly supports the government of Kosova for establishing control over its border crossings with Serbia as a necessary measure to install territorial integrity and to block illegal goods from being smuggled into the country. We call upon the European Union to fully support the government of Kosova for its action to fight against organized crime.

NAAC calls upon the Republic of Montenegro to restore the Municipality of Malesia –Tuzi! »

On July 30, 2009, the Government of the Republic of Montenegro issued for public discussion a draft of the proposed Law on Territorial Organization In Montenegro. This week the Assembly of the of Montenegro will be considering various amendments that were proposed in connection with the new law, including the amendments proposed by Albanian political parties of Montenegro concerning the restoration of an independent municipality of Malesia-Tuzi, a status which it had from 1050 through 1957.

NAAC Hails Kosova’s Membership to the IMF »

On May 8th, 2009, the Republic of Kosova received the official offer to become the 186th member of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This is yet another critically important achievement for Kosova towards securing global recognition as an independent state. IMF membership is a major step that brings Kosovo closer to its EU membership aspirations.

NAAC Condemns Serbian President’s Statement. »

The National Albanian American Council strongly condemns the political statements made by The President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, during his visit for the celebration of Easter in Monastery of Deçan, in the Republic of Kosova. In direct and flagrant violation of Kosova’s constitution, President Tadic expressed Serbia’s territorial claims towards Kosova by stating that he has “only messages of peace, peace for Serbs, Albanians, for everyone that lives in Kosova, in our Serbia.”

The National Albanian American Council (NAAC) congratulates Albania on becoming a NATO member. Having signed the Stability Associations and Agreements in June 2006 and now NATO membership in 2009 indicates that Albania is getting closer to fulfilling its aspirations to become a member of the EU.
