Governor’s Controversial Tax Initiative

Asian Americans highly value education and are particularly dependent on a quality public school system to ensure future professional and business success. At our meetings with state legislators, we raised questions as to whether the Governor’s tax initiative will help guarantee a quality public school education and have indicated that an alternative tax initiative,
“Our Childen, Our Future” might be more protective of our public school system.
(Recently the NAAC played a minor role in helping defeat the cigarette tax initiative (Prop 29) since it did not benefit the youth of California, and would not prevent teenage smoking.) See link to Asian Journal article:
