PG&E Energy Savings Assistance Program: Free energy-saving home improvements

NAAC works with the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) Company to provide qualified customers with home improvements at no cost to help keep your home more energy efficient, safe and comfortable.

Improving the energy efficiency of a home can significantly reduce energy bills. Not everyone, however, can afford to make these updates. That is why PG&E offers the Energy Savings Assistance Program. It provides qualified customers with energy-saving improvements at no charge.

Program Highlights

Your house, apartment or mobile home must be at least five years old. Both renters and owners are eligible. Common improvements may include:


New appliances to replace your old refrigerator, furnace or water heater*


Insulation and weatherproofing services to keep your home cooler in summer and warmer in winter


ENERGY STAR® Advanced LED light bulbs that use up to 80 percent less energy than traditional light bulbs

Income must meet the following guidelines, which are the same as those for CARE, the California Alternative Rates for Energy Program.

Prepare your NAAC intake form

Download and fill out the NAAC intake form

Prepare income documents from the last 30 days

Proof of Income can be: paycheck stubs, unemployment letter or Social Security Award Letter for all members of the household 

Prepare latest PG&E bill

This is where we can find your 11-digit PG&E account number

Prepare other documents

Make a list of all the names and ages of everyone in the household together with your state ID or driver’s license

We will need the above documentation to apply for the PG&E Reach Program on the day of your appointment.
